I have an ECS P4VXASD2+ (V5.0), purchased 2 x 512 mb pc2100 non ecc, unbuffered kingston ram ( kvr266x64c25/512). I have an addition 512 mb ( KVR133x64c3/512)
2.53GHZ P4 , 128mb ati radeon 9000 pro, 2 port usb pci, creative sound blaster sound card
It works perfect with just 1 stick of 512mb but when i add the other ram, it gives me the blue screen. I have no idea how to fix this...is it possible that i need to take out some of the jumpers on the motherboard? it also restarts randomly if it loads up to windows xp. can someone please help!!!?

I think you got the wrong kind of ram. The two PC2100 is what you added.
These are a KVR266X64C25/512. DDR266 SDRAM 184-Pin.
The ram you had before was
Kingston KVR133X64C3/512 512MB PC133 168pin DIMM.
Take a note to the pin#'s Also one is a 266Mhz, and the other is a 133Mhz. Check your Motherboard manual to see what it supports for Ram.

You are trying to install the wrong memory.
You listed the stick that is already in there as KVR133x64c3/512 This is a SDRAM module.
The new sticks you bought are kvr266x64c25/512 Which are DDR modules.
SDRAM and DDR RAM are two completely different kinds of memory. They should not even fit in the same slot.
You need to go out and buy a stick of PC133 SDRAM.

you indicated your two types of ram note the differences
KVR266x64c25/512 - x2
KVR133x64c3/512 - x1
You have two different types of Ram, Ram does not like being put in a computer in odd numbers if that number is more than 1.
Yes windows has fixed the old problems with you having to have pairs all the time, but windows is windows, and if the ram is not EXACTLY alike sometimes, it will cause problems like what you are describing.
Next, your computer is using PC133 ram from the sounds of your question, and now your trying to put PC266ram in its place. As well as combining PC133 and PC266 ram, bad bad idea.
No offense, but you really need to find someone who knows what they are doing to help you purchase and install your new RAM. I hate saying this, but try the geek squad at best buy, or another similar group at another store, or a computer repair store so that your computer is not damaged, if they do it, they have to replace your stuff, if you do it, you have to replace it.

You have bought the wrong RAM. This particular motherboard only supports SDRAM up to PC133. PC2100 is DDR RAM that is not supported by your Motherboard. You should have checked the specs for your motherboard before you bought it.

It sounds like you may have a bad piece of RAM, remove all RAM, install one of the new sticks in the first slot and turn on your computer, test it to see if it works good. Then test the other new stick of RAM. If both test good, then try them together without your original stick of RAM, if good then place your original in the next available slot and test again.

Dude the type of pins on the ram is distinctive.... Plus the two sticks of kvr266x64c25/512 are 266 and has 184 pins. (The gold connectors). and the KVR133x64c3/512 is 133 and in basic terms has 168 pins. Your going to fry out your processor, or Bios or the Ram, in case you maintain attempting to place in the incorrect ram..
