there is a way to do it without installing any extra programs ..
simple!!!
go to start menu ..then click RUN
or go to command prompt /dos
and type this

shutdown -s -t (duration of time(sec) you want the system to stay on )
then press enter
example if i want my system to shutdown after 2 hours this is how i will command it

shutdown -s -t 7200

the time is expressed in seconds
- if you want to cancel the shutdown type

shutdown -a
good luck

theres a program that i use that helps me automatically shut down at a particular time everyday. Try it. Download is free and it's safe. i think it'll be helpful for you as well.

IF u dont trust online downloads, what u can do is, open up notepad, and type in shutdown -s

then save as shutdwn.bat

then go to schedule task under control panal and upload this saved patch file. from there u can program ur desired timing for shutdown. Cheers!
