Hardware - March 2007

I have several accounts on desktop - and when I scan the main account it takes a good few hours. Do I need to scan all accounts or is this already being done from main account?

The program that is useing up my CPU is winesql.exe. When i end the process it come right back on the task manager and up goes the CPU to 100% again.

it doesnt have to be working im taking a home computer course and i need a computer to work on. ive tried ebay but theres not much on there. is there a website i can get one from? or anywhere else?

I am having problems with the new card that I purchased. It’s an X1950Pro made by HIS. Basically what’s happened is that when I tried doing the drives the way the instructions say to do it, when everything was done installing, the computer froze except for being able to move the mouse and then the monitor went black. The computer was still on and running, but the monitor’s led was blinking like the computer was off. I had to crash the computer in order to get it to reboot. I turned the computer back on and was never able to get the monitor to show a picture.

I put my old card back in and just let windows give it drivers. I uninstalled all software that had to do with ATI, including the drivers.

I need to print info onto sheets of labels . I really want to set something up in word to show where to start printing (to print 4 at a time). Sorry if i'm not too clear.

It's a Graphire from Wacom.
I DO NOT own a credit card to just go and order another one and I'm not wasting my money on a new graphics tablet (they dont sell the pen separatley here). Any suggestions? If it does not operate on my Pc and I cant replace the pen then I will buy another one but I really need to save money!

Is there anyway you can reverse a USB flash drive back?? Im so stupid I formatted the wrong drive, I thought it was my MP3 player drive, but then later realised it was my USB Flash Stick. I'm sooooo disappointed, had a very important, irreplaceable, file. Any chance I can recover it??

Printers are cheap, but replacing ink cartridges requires a 2nd mortagage on your home. PLUS, they seem to dry out overnight. Can you recommend a good printer that doesn't waste ink? Ideas? Anything?

helo there...i just got a new keyboard (logitech-internet pro desktop black) and its color is black ....my friend said me that the letters and numbers will fade...is this true??if yes then how much time will it take?

The pop up is "on line offers" and the 3 options are "Yes", "Remind me later", and "No thanks". Regardless of which choice I make, I can not stop this recurring pop up. I see it every 10 to 15 minutes.

I just purchased an Acer Aspire 5570 notebook. It came with no o/s. I told the tech guy at the store to format and partition it because I was going to install winXP when I got home. When I turn it on, the screen boots to a DOS looking interface with mentions of Linux prior to the blinking cursos. I have no experience with Linux. What do I do to begin my WinXP installation.
