Might be a couple of reasons:
1. The room that you have the pc in is too warm; the computer is trying to keep cool.
2. Have you opened up your computer and cleaned out the dust lately? A heavy coating of dust might be causing your pc to heat up more which in turn will cause the fan to run more.
3. Did you check the mfg's specs? That model might run more or less consistently.
4. Maybe it's not running more, it might just have become noiser. Do you need to replace the fan so it runs smoother?
5. Is your computer running hotter all of a sudden? You might need to take it in to the repair shop.

Fans on desktops run 100% of the time but the speed will vary dependent on the internal temperature of the PC. Laptop fans will only start when a certain internal temperature is reached. Classic for a continually running laptop fan is if it's sat on the bed or other soft material that's blocking the ventilation holes.

Yeah its to keep it cool maybe its become noisy for some reason and that's why you have noticed it, it might need cleaning there will probably be quite alot of dust in there. My fan is making a lot noise at the moment I keep kicking it which seems to do the trick for awhile, however I don't recommend you do the same just in case!!!

Modern high end processors are very high heat producers. If you don't take the heat way with heat sinks and fans the processor will either fail and have to be replaced, or perform unreliably. This can lead to data loss, and other processing problems, the concern should be if the fan doesn't come on!

the fan keep running because if it doesnt run it will over heat. if the fan is constantly on its because your computer is trying hard to keep up with what you are doing, and is using its 'energy' really. its cooling itself down so that is doesnt overheat and then blow up or something. leave it to cool down and the fan should turn off.

It is supposed to! It keeps motherboard and other components inside the PC cool so they don't overheat.
Unless it is really making loud noises, don't worry about it.

Your fans are supposed to run all the time. If they werent running, your computer would overhead and melt your motherboard, melt your processor to it's socket, making your computer a giant paperweight.
