For people running their own business/ one running through mac servers then yes - mac is the better choice as it has better software etc. sadly - most business servers etc run windows - and macs are still not fully compatible. speak to your server administrator if u want to get an apple on the server. but yes - an apple can do all that a windows can do - except run windows games - and there are far less mac games available. and the chances of finding a reasonably new mac for 500euros is almost non-existent

Have a boo at Apple's Mac Mini, $680 Canadian dollars, which is way less than your budget. You can use your existing monitor, and USB keyboard and mouse.

Not all Windows games run on a Mac, so to find out, go to the Game's website to see if they offer a Mac version.

As for doing everything else, yes you can. But, you won't need to do Anti-virus and anti-spyware tests because OS X is much more secure than Windows.

"We took a look at apple's reasons for switching to mac and we proved them all wrong. The best part was that It took no effort to do so either." http://www.mac-sucks.com/switch_why.php

Their so full of it, so are all those who believe all the nonsense.
