My old laptop is dead and got a new one. What I want to do is to transfer the data stored in hard drive of old laptop to the new one. Any ideas on how I go about this?

My current computer only has 128 MB of RAM so I'm looking to upgrade it and I found a good deal on some RAM sticks, are all brands of RAM able to work in some computers. The reason why I ask is I don't have a name brand computer and its about 3 years old, but has high speed internet..will any RAM work??

ok when i look into my windows task manager it says i have ______ kb of physical ram, which i assure you divides into 382 MB of ram, but first, they dont sell ram in that kind of number and secound, there is a clear label that says 512 MB when i look at the ram chip, why? plus i have a program that i want to run but the requirement is 512, but it says i dont have enough ram also...

I set my smart cpu fan temp to 40c (104F) and when its temp goes up for two or three degree over 40c I scare and shutdown my computer.
please tell me what temp is safe and best.

I bought a laptop with Window Vista Premium Edition. I already have a printer (Xerox WorkCentre 390). When I tried to install, it says it is not supported for Vista. I searched Xerox website and they dont have a driver for Vista. They also dont have a plan to develop on for Vista for this printer. Do you know if anyone else has developed a driver and is available in the internet? Thanks.

Is there anyway i can find out how much power my pc uses per hour. It is a Shuttle SS30G2 and works on full fan. Are there any websites that can tell me what the power consumption is or how i can find it out?

Can someone plz help me? I keep getting bootmgr missing press ctrl+alt+delete whenever I try to restart my computer now! I have Windows Vista and it all started when I kept getting "windows explorer has stopped working" and it kept restarting and doing the same thing. So, I went into F8 on startup and tried to start it up in safe mode, but that didnt work. So i chose 'Repair' next and I tried to do system recovery and I thought I clicked the wrong system recovery, so I canceled it and restarted my computer, and then I started getting bootmgr missing. I personally think that it was because I cut the system recover short and it erased it and couldn't recover it back. Please Help!

I have a 2006 emachine T6420 with an nVidia IGP standard with this model. I would like to install an ATI 1300X 256 DDR2 graphics card in the PCI express slot. After multiple attempts and speaking with "Tech's" from both Gateway & ATI I am still having problems. The machine doesn't even recognize that I have new hardware plugged into the PCI slot. When I uninstall the nVidia graphics drivers using driver clean up I am still not able to install the ATI catalyst driver suite. Error: No driver or hardware is installed even though it is. I have upgraded to a 400A power supply but not sure if that is enougy or if this would cause the system to not recognize the new graphics card. Please help!

Whenever I try to run my computer, it goes to the Windows XP startup screen, makes a noise like it's about to shut down, and then goes to a totally blue screen - no wallpaper, no icons, no toolbar - with the same statement I put as my question.

I want to know if there is anything I can do to fix this without losing my files.

My PC only has 4 USB Ports at the rear of the stack, all of which are currently in use for one thing or another,

I want to add another device to the system however i have no free USB Port in which to plug it in.

Can u get any form of "splitter" that would allow me to have more USB Ports available?

And if not, what are the alternatives?

Mouse seems to be lagging on Laptop; I just installed of XP from vista; I also installed XP driver too for the touchpad... It's not constant lagging, only when im searching on the web or when the computer is doing something. My computer is a toshiba Satellite A135-S4467; Core 2 Duo 1.6Ghz; 1.5GB RAM. Thanks

I've tried doing the search for sndrec32 n run sndrec32 but neither works...and I've tried to reintall it from windows components but it says that I need to have the CD and I can't find it.

I've tried to use other programs like audacity but for some reason they won't work with my old speakers please help
