ok when i look into my windows task manager it says i have ______ kb of physical ram, which i assure you divides into 382 MB of ram, but first, they dont sell ram in that kind of number and secound, there is a clear label that says 512 MB when i look at the ram chip, why? plus i have a program that i want to run but the requirement is 512, but it says i dont have enough ram also...

What is happening is that you have an onboard video adapter that is taking some of the system memory.

The total amount of memory installed on the machine is 512, but that adapter has about 128Mb memory dedicated just for video processing.

You could go into the bios and lower the amount of memory dedicated to video. But that would serve to slow down video performance.

you are sharing the ram with your onboard video... go in your bios and lower your video ram and you will get more for programs
