i had my pc for 1month its a acer 4000t 512mb 250gb i only dowload bout about 6 things and i have comcast the 99.99 deal why it take so long to pop up thw home pageit takes about 3min and 2min for other sites

my fiance can drive for an hour in the morning or we can hash this out tonite on my win XP - surely there must be a way! Sony could not hve been this shortsighted only a few short years ago could they?!?!?! Answers before my next breath nad before we both expire of sleep deprivation would be trooly kool - thanks lots in advance - you guys always save the day! p.s. we have the whole kit and kaboodle - PSLINK and all straight down to an xtra ac adapter!

My sisters computer will not power up anymore. When the reset switch is turned on in the back the lights come on for about a second and then shut back off again. Also the fan does not come on. Any suggestions?

my computer had some problems so i changed the hard drive. but after a few weeks the same problems began again. it will work for a few minutes but then become very slow then programs will not respond then finally it just freezes. i checked for a virus or worm before i changed the hard drive and i know i dont have a virus. what could be the problem.....?

ok so i have an amd athlon 3800+, and i was wondering wat that was equivilent to intel? would it be 3.8 ghz intel equivilent?
because on this site to see if you computer can run games it said that my athlon was equivilent to an intel 3.8 ghz processor.
and i wanted to see if that was true.

I ordered a Geforce 6800 XT and a new power supply to power it. I got the new video card to help my performance on a few games i play(counter-strike and guildwars) where my fps is always going up and down by 30-100. In my system I have a Intel p4 1.6 Ghz and was wondering if this was more of the problem then my FX 5500 that I have in it right now. I've heard from others that my video card might "bottleneck" and the upgrade would do nothing. (My RAM is 768) If someone could give me their opinion, that'd be great.

right now im on my sony vaio desktop trying to restore the computer with the restore cds...the problem is is that i keep getting a error message saying unknown error found..and i need all my data that was on partition D...i was just trying to restore partition C...so i know that all my data thats on partition D is still there..can someone help me please and is there something i can do to get my data back that was on partition D...

Hi. Im willing to upgrade my old P4 2.8 HT 1GB ram system to a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 ghz. I'm trying to save my budget, so what would be the best config bassed on this processor? I'll keep my old sata disks. Im a designer, so I use Corel Suite (for publishing), Photoshop, Macromedia's suite, Adobe Premiere among others.

My choice is:
- Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz
- Video: Radeon x1650 pro 512mb pci-e, Sapphire
- MoBo Intel DP965LTCK
- DDR2 1 GB PC2-6400 Hyper Memory Kingston
- 600w W0129RU Thermaltake
- Matrix Thermaltake Case

I want to keep it below the 1,000 usd.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

I can hear my sys fans (at least one of the 3in the case) really get going when I am using any sort of graphics heavy app; online or off. It'll rumble quite loudly for a few mins then "BLINK!" off it goes. If I wait a few mins and restart it is fine untill I use the graphic heavy items again. What gives?
2.8 Ghz with processor fan, 2 additonal fans, .1 GB ram, XP pro, only using the on-board video, motherboard is MSI PM8PM-V What else do you need to know...?

My computer crashed a few month ago. I am and always be the only user. The first thing was that stopped burning Cds and is wasn't recognizing my 3 CD Roms. After a very bad repairing process definitely I could not see all my drivers or removable storage on My Computer. Then I had the idea of create a second user and in that one I can see everything but I cannot still burn Cds. I have tried different utilities like System mechanic 7 and nothing works. Could be an operating system problem? I use Windows Xp Home Edition SP2

I got a USB memory stick around the holidays, and no matter what I've tried, I can't get anything to be saved onto it. Copying files to it doesn't work, and saving directly to it doesn't work. When I got it, there were programs already on it, but I accidentally deleted them, and haven't gotten around to finding out if they're necessary. Do I need to download those programs again, or am I missing something?
