My computer crashed a few month ago. I am and always be the only user. The first thing was that stopped burning Cds and is wasn't recognizing my 3 CD Roms. After a very bad repairing process definitely I could not see all my drivers or removable storage on My Computer. Then I had the idea of create a second user and in that one I can see everything but I cannot still burn Cds. I have tried different utilities like System mechanic 7 and nothing works. Could be an operating system problem? I use Windows Xp Home Edition SP2

Check and make sure all your cables are connected.

Quite a serious problem there. If you want everything to be restored, you could either reformat the computer and reinstall Windows, or the hard way by reinstalling every single software one by one. If you reinstalled Windows, everything will be restored to the way it was.

If I were you I would back up my personal files & then erase everything & re-install.
Trust me ... it will be less time consuming than all other possible solutions & WILL in the end giv you a better running PC.
