Your printer is offline. Turn on the printer. Go to the Printer and Other Hardware in Control Panel and click on Printers and Faxes. Right-click on the icon of the printer you are currently using and you should see a text 'Use Printer Online' if the icon displays the printer to offline or 'Use Printer Offline' if the icon displays the printer to be online.

Try to use another USB port if its connected to the USB port. check your device manager to see if the printer has a yellow question mark on it. if it does remove it from there and reinstall the drivers....
if nothing works then remove the drivers(uninstall) then disconnect the printer, restart your computer, install the drivers and then connect the printer...
all the best..

If all drivers are present then you probably have got a cable problem or a connector problem.First of all of course make sure it is powered on.Then unhook your usb cord and listen for the chime.(Make sure speakers are turned up)Then plug it back in and listen for the chime. If you hear nothing ether you have a bad cord or one of the connections(USb connection on computer and printer)...good luck

Have you turning the power off for about 30 seconds? This usually works.
