I see that there are different dpi resolutions like 600 x1200 or 1200 x 2400 etc... What exactly do these numbers mean and is there a big difference between the two. Is the 1200 x 2400 much better than the 600 x 1200 or does it not matter that much? thanks

Hi,

I have reset my PC and now it doesn't recognize my partition on the hard drive. I need to install Windows again. For doing this i need to format the hard disk. Should i do this?

I have some crucial data's on the hard and i need to recover them. Can someone please help me.

I was giving my cat a bath last night, and as I was getting his towel, he escaped from my grasp, only to jump right up on my computer monitor, soaking wet. LOTS of water got inside for sure, and I unplugged it and turned it upside down overnight to drain. This morning i flipped it back over and plugged it back in and it turned on, but the picture is shaky and there are lines moving through it. Can it be fixed or would it be cheaper just to buy a new monitor?

I have a lap top and had milk above where i had my lap top stupid i know. The milk as you might have guess feel. It hit primarily my screen and now like part is bright and the other part is viewable but darker almost like it had been bleached. Can you give me an idea on how to fix it. Can you get a new screen for a lap top?

I will be getting a new laptop soon, and i heard great things about the Macbooks. I never had a Mac and always used Windows. I heard the new Macs can run both however. Do i need any software for this 2 happen. Wouldnt I need 2 buy some kind of software to enable Mac to run windows and then buy Windows itself?

I heard that Mac isnt all that hard 2 learn, is this true? If i get just a Mac and not one with Windows what happens if someone emails me a Microsoft Word file...can I open it? what about a Microsoft powerpoint file? And vice versa if i create either of these files with a Mac can Windows people access them without a problem? What versions of Windows can....can Microsoft Vista? XP?

As a college student who is leaning towards a Mac what is everything I will need.....what Mac exactly, software, 2nd battery, ac adapter, case, wireless mouse, etc....what is EVERYTHING computer related that I will need?

When I try to play music on Windows Media Player, I get the following message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." I HAVE UPDATED MY DRIVER, I still can't get it to work.

i have 3 monitors, but i can only use two of them with my current video card. is there any software i could download that would allow me to use the output vga from my motherboard(for the integrated onboard graphics) in conjunction with my video card so i could potentially use three monitors?

my memory and disk space everythign is all good but when i went here ...i went to start right click on my computer went to properties and system properties came out ...under advanced tab i went to performance settings and it gave me these choices (let windows choose whats best for my computer that is the one also that is checked or (adjust for best appearence), ( adjust for best performance) (custom) which one should i check fro the speed to move nicely in the game? thx:)

I've got an older Dell laptop (Latitude CPx to be exact) and was wondering why part of my screen gets very warm when I'm using it. Just seems weird that this one specific area gets hot to the touch and no other part of the screen does.

If you bring up a blank white page on the internet, you can see where the hot spot is because it almost looks like a ripple effect (something close when a drop of water goes into a pool of water).

Could my screen be going bad and need to get a replacement?

I am very new to all of this. I have a laptop, but have never taken it outside of my house. I was wanting to have anybody who is knowledgeable about "wireless internet cards"? tell me how easy it has gotten to be able to take your laptop to , say India or Eastern Europe and be able to use your laptop wirelessly without needing to plug it into anything?

Please inform me how and how easily this can be done, I am very computer illieterate.
