Hi,

I have reset my PC and now it doesn't recognize my partition on the hard drive. I need to install Windows again. For doing this i need to format the hard disk. Should i do this?

I have some crucial data's on the hard and i need to recover them. Can someone please help me.

Thanks

You can get a utility from your hard drive manufacturer which will analyse your hard drive for problems. If something happened to the File SYstem on the disk then it is more than likely lost. This happened to me once before. When i used the manufacturer's utility it showed the File System as RAW wich is not recoverable without spending a lot of money.

Another option would be to buy a new Hard drive and install windows on that one and use your current drive as a second drive. As a second drive and not your boot drive you can see all the files on there and recover what you want and then format it.

Unless you get a better responce from someone else i would say that you will need to reformat and install windows.
