If you only changed one, you messed up. Need to change in pairs - or you put them in the wrong slots - or one or both are defective.

enjoy.

*****POSSIBILITIES*****

1). 256mb is the max RAM or less than 512mb is.

2). Your PC requires ram to be installed in pairs.

3). The 512mb chip is the incorrect speed/density/type.

4). The 512mb chip is defective.

Good Luck :-)

if it is dual channel then you must have the same memory configuration on both memory slot sections

also, make sure the memory is either ecc or non-ecc memory, depending on what ur computer is, as this is neccesary for it to work

im not sure if clock speed could possible be an issue, but i doubt it, as im pretty sure u can have multiple cards with different clock speeds

every answer before mine was made by some noob who didnt know what he was talkin about lol

Do you have the same pin number as well as style of RAM. Remember, you can't mix 256 with 512 cards. All the same or nothing works.

This is because you do not have enough internal memory to run a 512mb ram system, you need to either upgrade your pc or add an external harddrive to it, i reccomend you purchase one of the following adress.

Your voltage setting could be wrong for the new memory. The new memory could be incompatible with your system.
