Which CPU is better for gaming PC ?

i am bulding a pc ..going to use it for hardcore gaimg ..i know that most of depends on video card..but still need a good CPU for it ..
here are two CPU's that i am going to get ..please tell me which is better and why ..?

1..Intel Pentium D, 945, Socket 775, Presler Core, 2x3.4 GHz, 2x 2MB Cache, Retail (£105)

2..Intel Core 2 Duo E6300, Socket 775, 1.86 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, Allendale Core, 2MB Cache, Retail

Go with AMD its a faster processor then the Intel processors. A AMD FX-60 will blow both of those Intel's out of the water!
