it is a toshiba 2002 laptop and it shuts down when i download music and play games but not any other time.

sounds like it could be spyware or ads or something. get the free lavasoft ad-aware se and scan your pc.
or its just you computer is set to turn off when its not being used. like when your not touching anyhting. just go to control panel and click power options

Hi. Sounds like an overheating problem. Check the CPU cooler for dust build up.

This happens to me too. It's most likely your graphics card/drive. Depending on what type of games you play, the graphics card may not be up-to-date.
