I currently have a wireles pc card that I was using with my laptop, but now that my laptop is no longer working, I have no internet access. I have a desktop computer that I can use but wanted to find out if it was possible to use my pc card with the desktop computer instead of canceling my contract with Verizon.

Am I the only person that gets p!ssed off by these new adverts for apples (you know the "I'm a pc", "and I'm a Mac" ones)? The only way they can sell computers it seems to me is to slag off PC's and the software they run on! And yes to all those Apple fanboys out there I typed this on a PC using Internet Explorer!

My mouse pointer behaves erractically. While I'm working, the pointer will move and my screen will lock up. Sometimes the point will change shapes and make the screen scroll up or down randomly. I've plugged in different brands of mice and even tried using the touchpad on my laptop, but the problem perists. What's wrong with my mouse and how can I fix it.

I am running an eMachines W3503 Desktop with Windows XP Media Edition. I have upgraded the DDR Ram to 2GB so it runs smooth and fast.

I mostly use this PC for Internet browsing but I occasionaly use Adobe Priemiere 3.0 to edit home movies. This software is quite a resource hog but it is outstanding to use.

My question is about my processor. It is an Intel Celeron D Processor 356 with 64-bit Technology with Intel® EM64T
(3.20GHz, 533MHz FSB, 512KB L2 cache)

What does all this mean? Like 512KB and L2 cache? And what is 3.20GHz mean?

Also...I am NOT using this PC for gaming in any way. Is this processor suited for Internet browsing and Video Editing? It has not let me down yet...but what are your opinons?

I will soon be going off to college and I am torn on which to purchase. I hear Macs are great computers and will soon have a new OS out.I have used them before but i am worried about the compatability with certain applications that i may run into in the future (even though they run windows as well). However Ive always had a PC and and with Vista out i am somewhat interested in one of those, but i have no idea what company makes a laptop that is realiable and capable of running Vista with no problems in my price range (Im looking to spend around $1200). Which brand and model do you recommend. Thank you for your input.

I need to edit a scanned document and my scanner has ocr. The problem is when I send to wordpad or notepad it changes the format. I need to keep the document as it originally was. With boxes and columns, it rearranges the document to look like a typed message. I triend editing it this way and printing but it prints as a typed message.

What am I doing wrong?

I checked the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and it goes up to 1024x768. I go to System -> Preferences -> Screen Resolution, and the resolutions are 800x600 and 640x480. I can have 60 or 56 hertz for 800x600 and only 60 hertz for 640x480. I can get past 1280x1024 on Windows and I still get 75 hertz. (I have a CRT) I read that I should get a better driver or something, where should I get it, or what should I do?
