if its usb 2.0 then it makes no difference to the speed, If you are in the uk argos are doing a 1Gb for 15 quid.

There is no differentiation between individual flash drives. The read and write speed is governed by the USB host controller of which you have no control over.

If you go onto Device Manager, extend the Universal Serial Bus controller tab as seen here: http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p242/2007dmc122007/usb.jpg

If you can see the word 'Enhanced' anywhere then you have USB 2.0, which is 480Mbps. This is 40 times faster than USB 1.1, which is only 12Mbps, which you will have if the word 'enhanced' is not there.

In conclusion, most USB flash drives are the same, it is the speed of the USB controller on your computer that governs the speed.

There is no difference. As long as the flash drive is USB 2.0 compliant, at 480 Mbps, that is as fast as it will go.
