Hardware - February 2007

I have an nvidea gforce 7800 gt card, 1gig ram, amd64 dual core processor.I am currently playing a game called Oblivion, which my computer is more than capable of running, but the problem is that every so often while i'm playing my screen will go black, aside from the game action and info bars but I can still walk around and activate menus but cannot see any environment. In order to continue I have to save, quit game and return to the point where I just saved.
I hope I provided enough info to narrow down the problem, if you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

I also tried directx troubleshoot, reinstalling the game, and slowing down my clock speed. But to no avail.

I want to have a tv tuner card installed in my tower, but I don't want to be limited to one monitor as I like to draw in Adobe and also watch tv at the same time...or have one program working while I watch tv...some Adobe functions take a while and I want to be doing something while I wait...like watch or moreover listen to the TV

I'm going to get a new Hp Notebook from a program at my work but I'm wondering if it has WiFi. It doesn't tell me if it does nor does it tell me the model number. I have a surround sound system hooked up to my computer. It's got 5 little speakers and 1 big subwoofer. All of a sudden only two of the little speakers work and they sound like they're in a tin can. I've checked my volume levels and all the mute buttons. All my drivers are properly installed. What could cause this and how do I fix it?

Hey,

Does any one know if it's possible to have programs that can only be accessed by ONE account on my PC? I have just created a new account that I'll use for entertainment but it has all the same programs as my other account.

Also, deleting programs in the new account deletes them in the old account too.

Surely I'm missing some major detail here. I'd really like the two accounts to be independent. Can you help?

ok i downloaded the software named windows vista upgrade advisor and it tells me my comp can run vista and my comp's cpu is AMD 1.80 GHz AND The vista upgrade advisor tells me it can run vista but then i went to the website of my processor AMD.COM and i evaluate my pc there to see if it can run vista and it tells me i cannot run vista which one should i listen upgrade advisor which i downloaded from microsoft.com or the amd evaluator??

i have a 4 year old gateway laptop, it has always been fast and good, but all of the sudden one day it takes 5 minutes to get booted up( usually 2 minutes max), the mouse cursor lags and as i type right now the letters are coming a second after i type them. It lags when i open up the start tab.....i downloaded spybot search and destroy and found 15 problems...i fixed them all but it didnt change the lag, can some1 plz shed some light on this....i also used the diskdefragmenter and nothing changed..plz help.

Like it goes staraight across from side to side well does anyone know how to put it top to bottom.
Instead of going across make it go side ways .

i can only get to as far as name your computer, when i click next it has the little egg timer come up and does no more, do you have any idear what the poroblem is or how to fix it before this problem it kept freezing even after reboot, defragment and usual checks
