I am running a Dell Dimension XP Media Center Edition 2005 and I have an Epson Stylus CX5000 all in one printer.

Some printer can turn on automatically, others can't, usually if it can it will, as soon as the printer is recognized by the computer and doesn't need special setup. However, the best thing is to check with the inclusive manual or the Cell company to see if your printer can.

Don't understand your problem. If your Epson is set as default printer, and you turn it on when you begin to work and leave it on, all you have to do to print is hold the Control key and press P. What's the big deal?

No sorry you can't get it to turn the printer on. Unless there is some new printer that does it but I have not heard of it.
