I have a surround sound system hooked up to my computer. It's got 5 little speakers and 1 big subwoofer. All of a sudden only two of the little speakers work and they sound like they're in a tin can. I've checked my volume levels and all the mute buttons. All my drivers are properly installed. What could cause this and how do I fix it?

open up your control panel for your sound card and see if you have surround sound set to hall or arena or similar that sounds like the problem. To remedy just set to none, i think all this will come under generic
Good luck

sounds like u have ''popped'' or blown them , by giving them too much power if tis is the case they are donald ducked matey, could be breakage in speaker wires or dodgy connection but unlikeley seeing as two are doing the same thing at the same time, and the rest are'nt working, but u could try some old speakers in ur output just to make sure its not a computer problem

Have you got a control panel for the 5.1 system, I have for mine, and you can select what type of sound you want to produce, (including underwater - with constant bubbles) also you can set how many spealkers you want to be active.

Look for it's control panel
Mine is under 'Sound Max' in the Control Panel.

Hi try this first
Go to control panel/click Sounds/click Advanced in Speaker Settings - Access the drop down menu and select 5.1/click apply/click ok/ click ok.
Hope this works for you.
