i can open it with a pin in the pin hole, but if i put a cd in that way it wont read. And the light on the drive just blinks all the time. If i push the eject button it wont open. I think this started to happen when i did a right click and clicked eject.

If you have not used a lens cleaner already, do so. If you hvae and that has not resolved the problem, then unfortunately it seems you will have to replace it. They can be found as low as $12 used to $169 new. You can get a good one for about $40 at CompUsa

Sounds like the tray's misaligned. Manually close the tray (don't worry, it should automatically close) and hold it a while. Then try reading from the drive.

Use a DVD-CD laser lens cleaner, and see if that works, if it doesn't your drive may need replacing.

Unplug the computer and press the power button. If thet doesn't reset it then buy a new one.
