I checked the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and it goes up to 1024x768. I go to System -> Preferences -> Screen Resolution, and the resolutions are 800x600 and 640x480. I can have 60 or 56 hertz for 800x600 and only 60 hertz for 640x480. I can get past 1280x1024 on Windows and I still get 75 hertz. (I have a CRT) I read that I should get a better driver or something, where should I get it, or what should I do?

sounds like you need a linux driver for your video card. google linux+"your card name" to see if one is out there.. also try the ubuntu forums. someone can probably get it to you.

G'day,

Did you try closing all your windows that are open so you just see your Desktop, then right click on the Desktop, click on Properties, then click on the Settings Tab, there is where you do the adjusting, you may or may not have to restart your computer after you change it depending how you set up the options. Hope this helps.
