My computer sometimes crashes when i try to play world of warcraft......its probably because of the graphics card.I also downloaded and installed WOW off the website so instead of the graphics card being the problem could be because of an online installation bug type of thing?

When I place a CD or DVD in the computer and close the door, it causes the computer to restart. It does this every time. Someone said I might have a weak motherboard. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance! BB

Judging by history, this gets asked every 6 months or so.

In the past, I've been quite happy with Dell, BUT I worked with pictures (photos) only. Now I'm moving into video, with the possibility of some animation.

Is the Dell Inspiron still my best choice? I love a 1920x1200 screen, BUT- they can only take 2GB (!) This would normally probably be fine, BUT now I'm forced to buy Memory Hog Vista with any new machine.

So- HP, Toshiba, Sony, even (gulp) Apple are options. It's not like I have legacy video software I need to run.

Which machine, and how much RAM / drive space, do you recommend?

Dell Latitude d820
2.00 Ghz Core 2 Duo
Windows XP Media
2GB Ram 667 Mhz
80gb HD 5400 rpm
***512mb nVidia Quadro NVS 120m Turbocache***

I'm a college student but rarely tote my computer to and from class. I just want to know if I will be able to:
watch dvds
play some games (Rome: Total War + expansions, Medieval Total War, Age of Empires 3)
use adobe photoshop CS2

I've read a lot about the Quadro graphics card and now i'm worried that i might have gotten a rotten deal with the specs on my laptop and what I want it for. I dont game a lot, literally those games I lised are the only thing I play, I have a ps2 for others.

I am trying to reformat my computer. I have a Dell copy of Windows XP Home that came with my computer. Everything went well, till I tried to delete my C: NTFS partition through the Windows setup. It told me that the setup files were still on the drive and the partition couldn't be deleted.

I tried to use an approach I used on my laptop several days ago, where I installed Win 2000 through a floppy drive and then upgraded to XP. This process didn't use my C: drive for setup files. The only problem is, my desktop that I am now formatting doesn't have a floppy disk drive.

Is there anyway to safely remove my windows partition, or somehow redirect these setup files to another drive?

I know we've moved past floppies, but I was making sure that a floppy didn't have important information and I got it stuck in the drive. I wrenched out the disk, but the metal spring-loaded clip is still inside. How do I get it out?

I have an RCA 256 mb usb flash drive/mp3 player. Everytime i try to connect it to my computer and access files from it. I receive the error "please insert disk into drive e" (drive is is the letter of the flash drive) The drive will does not work as a music player either. I have tried reinstalling the drivers but that did nothing. What could be causeing this error? Could this be caused by removing the dirve without clicking on the safe to remove hardware? Can anyone direct me to a FREE utility that may be able to fix this error and recover my files. Is there any chance of my being able to recover my files. I would like to be able to fix this error without formating my drive if there is anyway possible. i have alot of important files on there that i do not want to lose. I am hoping that this is not a problem with the flash drive itself. I have only had it a few months
