Look at the prefix, M stands for Mega which is 10^6, G is Giga which is 10^9.

1024 megs = 1 gig, so if you have 1 meg compared to 1 gig, GIGabyte is more.

Here is an easy way to remember it

GB is GIGA and MB is MEGA

Giga is 1000MB

MB is 1000bytes
