This is a fair question. The term combo drive is not defined the same by everyone. A CD/DVD combo drive may read both. However you have to look at the alphabet soup in the name regarding burning.
CD-RW reads and writes on special RW CDs which will not work on most CD players but will on most computer CD players that have RW drives.
The same for DVD.

The term was popularized by Apple Computer as a name for the low-end substitute for their high-end SuperDrive, which was designed to both read and write DVD and DVD recordable media. what do u mean by a "combo system"? if u mean it has a combo drive (i.e a drive that can read both DVDs as well as CDs) then yes. the only thing u need however is a program called a decoder. some DVD drives already have hardware decoders. if ur drive doesnt have one then u need a program such as Cyberlink's PowerDVD for them to play properly.
