My CD Rom/ Disc drive will not open. I have tried the usual by putting a pin the hole, and that failed.......has anyone any ideas......Help will be much appreciated.

17 in LG monitor used as second monitor, works fine with pc stack. i have tried adjusting contrast , using different colours
i dont want to have to use those mad colours in accessibility wizard.

how much shoud i pay for a motherboard that has either a PCI-E or a AGP graphic card slot? any suggestions? i need it be able to hold a intel processor. i would like to pay less than 100 dollars if at all possible. i have looked at tigerdirect.com but couldnt find one that held a intel. any other suggestions of where to find one?

I joined the **** 18-month BT Home Hub **** state of art technology 3 three months ago. It really disconnects virtually every day for at least half an hour. BT says it is some improvement work. I just wonder what can we do, given some many people also complain about the Home Hub, including this forum. Is there any user group that can represent the interest of the consumers or where can we complain? I believe it is a ground for discontinuing the 18 months contracts. **** BT.

is duo core 2 processor a 64bit processor?
I know the amd turion 64 X 2 is a 64 bit processor...
Microsoft states that new Vista performs best with 64 bit architecture...So....If duo core 2 is not 64 bit, then I guess turion 64 is the best way to go for windows buyers...

I have tried configuring it..but after restarting it tells me to undo the start-up action and use thr normal start-up mode on the general tab. what should i do.

Again...is it wise to cancel defrag....after initializing it. it seems to be taking ages. my hard drive is partitioned. one wit 26% free space and the other with 5% free space.

I have installed my HP all in one series successfully, but when I try open up my HP Director nothing happens. I have uninstlled everything and then reinstalled it, but it still will not open up. I wanted to see how much ink I had left, but I can't do that, since my HP Director will not open up. What do you think is wrong and how can I fix it. Thanks for the help.

I love the printer. The past few times I've used it however, there are ghost prints of the words I've typed, so the documents I print look all black & smeared. I don't know where the instruction manual is, so don't know if there are buttons to push, words to type, or if I need to change a cartridge. If I do need to change a cartridge, how do I do it w/out breaking the printer. Thanks for your answer! Brenda

I tried to overclock ,my CPU but I can only increase it by 5%. I have tried increasing the voltage to both the CPU and RAM with no success. I have change the memory latency times with no success. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have a new computer and just installed an older game Diablo 2 to be exact. I've ran thsi game on my laptop forever and have not had any problems with it. My new comp is core 2 duo running 1.8mhz each 250GB 1GB Mb ram running an onboard graphics card, when i get onto diablo and i try to play the game my FPS drops to around 10-20 which for a mediocre graphics game like d2 is bad. buts its bad for anygame anyways. I checked around and said im only using 9mb of 128 mb of Vram and i cant find out how to raise my Vram. Or unless Im missing somethign is there something im missing to make the gaem run faster and smoother?

my old laptop is a Celeron 1.4mhz 80gb 512mbRAm with a cruddier on board intel graphics card

I have a Acer system, with speakers built into the monitor. (not very good sound) I have maximised my volume, and been in programs/accessories/sounds. Is it possible to just add extra speakers in the back of the tower, if so do I need extra drivers ? thanks

Unfortunately my motherboard only has a AGP 8X slot...
and I do really want to upgrade my Graphic card.

I was looking at the Geforce 7800 GS
...which i believe it was the only AGP in the 7XXX series?
Not sure... but hell 7800 looks good to me.

these 4 manufacturers are which I found to have 7800 GS.
BFG.. which is the cheapest and has an OC (around $200)
XFX, eVGA, and PNY are all around $300.

1. Which manufacturer would you recommend for the Geforce 7800 GS?
I dont OC or anything.. just use it as is.


2. Why is BFG so cheaper than the other ones?
wouldn't a OC graphic card be faster than a normal card?

3. Should I wait some more?
I know that from now on.. all the good graphic cards are going to come with the PCI-E...
But really don't need an extra motherboard and a CPU right now.
Any chance the Geforce 7800 GS will have a price drop in few weeks?
I'm just assuming that price will remain around the same cause its the only powerful card with AGP..
