Unfortunately my motherboard only has a AGP 8X slot...
and I do really want to upgrade my Graphic card.
I was looking at the Geforce 7800 GS
...which i believe it was the only AGP in the 7XXX series?
Not sure... but hell 7800 looks good to me.
these 4 manufacturers are which I found to have 7800 GS.
BFG.. which is the cheapest and has an OC (around $200)
XFX, eVGA, and PNY are all around $300.
1. Which manufacturer would you recommend for the Geforce 7800 GS?
I dont OC or anything.. just use it as is.
2. Why is BFG so cheaper than the other ones?
wouldn't a OC graphic card be faster than a normal card?
3. Should I wait some more?
I know that from now on.. all the good graphic cards are going to come with the PCI-E...
But really don't need an extra motherboard and a CPU right now.
Any chance the Geforce 7800 GS will have a price drop in few weeks?
I'm just assuming that price will remain around the same cause its the only powerful card with AGP..

Manufacturer is not a big deal, all four listed are good. Not sure why it is cheaper, but why worry, BFG makes good stuff. I don't see the price dropping much. By the way, the 7800GS is not the most powerful card for AGP, the Radeon X1950Pro is, but is very hard to find for AGP, here is one:http://www.excaliberpc.com/Sapphire_ATI_Radeon_VCX_X1950PRO/100171/partinfo-id-571684.html I checked about 15 stores, its on backorder at all of them.

If you don't overclock anything then go for the cheapest at 200$. The ones that are already overclocked by the manufacturer are pricier because they garantee their overclock. And you will not notice the difference that much. save 100$ and overclock it yourself with the applet "coolbits" if you want.
Of course I would tell you to go with PCI-E since I was in the same dilemna, but when I upgraded the 7800 was 400$ for the basic one so I had no choice but to upgrade everything I wasn't gonna pay 400$ for that card.
But for 200$ it's acceptable. Just don't wast 300$ for it.

The Radeon x1950 Pro is the fastest video card for agp. But it does depend some on the cpu. Some games will run much faster, others are limited to how fast the cpu can get data to the video card. goto www.tomshardware.com to see video and cpu benchmarks.
