trying to start my computer i get a message says "windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt"
\system32\hal.dll.
please re-install a copy of the above file. Q how do i reinstall a file and where do i reinstall it to ? i have never reinstalled any file before i do have windows xp pro cd but i cant get computer to start up not even in safe mode any help would be great thank you

When i select print preview , only part of the image is visable. What do I need to adjust in order to print web pages, scanned images, etc...

my brothers fiance let me borrow her laptop and she said that it doesnt have alot of memory on it but when i looked it said free 2.08 GB and total 4.53 GB is that a lot or a little memory? And will it be enough to put YIM (yahoo instant messenger) on it without killing the laptop?

i just got a new monito: Sceptre 20.1 and i start bf2 and the screen turns black like usuall, but. . . then it goes back to the desktop. i changed the resolution in the preferences and i dont know what to do now.

I'm thinking about upgrading my video card, but I don't want to get one that isn't compatible with DirectX10, because I will then have to upgrade it again when games that run on DX10 start being released in large quantities. Anyway, if someone could tell me what video cards currently on the market support it, as well as price range and the amount of video RAM (256MB, 512MB, 1GB, etc.), I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I tried playing a game on my computer and when I clicked to play, it said: "MGS requires at least 4 MB of video accelerator memory available. Currently, there is not enough video memory on this system to run the game in hardware mode. The game will run correctly, but only in software mode. If more video memory is made available, MGS will run in hardware mode. For more information, correct your hardware." What can I do to fix this problem. When I clicked ok it wouldnt let me play it at all! Please help, thanks!!

i know that its not DX10 and sm4 and that the 8800GTS is better and the R600 will come out, but will this card still play some of the newest games (bf2, prey, crysis) with 2gb ram and an E6600
and is $299 a good deal for it?
oh btw the card is a Connect3D X1950XTX 512mb crossfire ready

I have a desktop computer attached to a HP printer and wired to a wireless router. I have a laptop that is wireless and can print thru the desktop sharing. The desktop has to be powered up in order for the laptop to print. Is there a way to set this up so the desktop does not have to be on and keep the desktop hardwired and the laptop still access the printer? Thanks

Hi all, I have two desktops connect by a router, and i am using DSL online services. I'm an idiot. I needed to move a lot of pics to a new folder, like 70 pics, ao I put them all on the destop. That was dumb. How can I get them OFF of the desktop? When I put them somewere they just go there AND stay on the desktop!!! Please help!!
