Hi all, I have two desktops connect by a router, and i am using DSL online services. I would just want to know how come the desktop A is slower when loading pages or doing some other online activities than desktop B, isn't it they should have same speed? and i also want to know if one desktop let's say infected by virus or spyware, will there be any effect to the another desktop? are they totally independent or what?

I have Anti-virus program on both computers, but since antivirus program will not detect ALL virus, then if there is virus on the network, my TWO pc will all be infected, then what to do in this situation, i mean how to scan the network? any program is used to scan the network? and scan the network of which desktop? (either one or both?)

It all depends on your hardwares settings and other things like applications running in background. If one pc is faster than the other one, it will load pages faster. Yes the virus can infect both PCs if they're on a network and if you enable file and printer sharing.

Spyware is probably the most likely culprit! There shouldnt be any problem between the 2 unless you are using file sharing sites and then moving the files to the other pc!

Unless both are exactly identical (hardware/software), then I see why you are confused by one being slower. Otherwise, one computer may have less RAM, or just be older.

Yes, a virus can attack all computers on a network.
