i just got a new monito: Sceptre 20.1 and i start bf2 and the screen turns black like usuall, but. . . then it goes back to the desktop. i changed the resolution in the preferences and i dont know what to do now.

I would go to the company that makes this game and ask them or read their forums.. Battlefield 2 is known to be full of holes and bugs. I had owned it after it was first released and it was such a pain that I sold it to a friend. No game is worth that kind of trouble.

would need much more detail, like computer specs, like video card, memory ,ect. Did it work before? if worked before, what was the other monitor?
If it never worked, does your computer meet the specs for the game?
