LCD screens don't have glass on the outside of the screen. The monitor is coated with an anti-reflective polarizer that will be damaged by ammonia, alcohol and the steel wool (wtf?). Don't damage the screen anymore than you already have.

You may want to try http://www.pixelclean.com , this stuff worked great for me. Not sure if it will remove ink, however.

Just my 2 cents.

Be very careful with what you employ on it. I advise getting a particular spray or wipe from a retail keep that cleans the reveal screen alongside with a lint loose cloth. some cleaners will bypass away everlasting marks/ stains, or maybe consume into the outdoors and discolor your photograph. After cleansing / buffing the area out with the cleansing agent, it facilitates to wipe the sreen with an anti-static answer. i could say thats your perfect wager over the tide to bypass. then you certainly've got left over for the destiny to scrub different displays.

Pure, denatured alcohol. NOT rubbing alcohol, which is diluted. If that doesn't work, try acetone.
