my ibook g4 has lots of usb ports, but no slots in which i can slide an internet card. i can connect to my wireless modem at home because my ibook g4 has an antenna built in. i need to be able to use my ibook g4 wherever i can get cell phone reception. i'm on the road a lot, and i need to be able to use my laptop almost anywhere.

I need to replace that flourescent light that lights the LCD screen on my IBM Thinkpad 770. The LCD itself works fine. If you hold a light up to it in a dark room, you can see that the screen is ok. I don't know how to take the screen apart and I need to know where to find a replacement flourescent bulb. Better yet, I need to know that type of bulb to get. Can anyone help me please?

Help! My computer won't run. It goes to the Windows XP loading stage, but then it stops at a blue screen and it says:

"STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\systemRoot\system32\config\SOFTWARE
or its log or a alternate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

Everything I've try does the exact same thing. HELP PLEASE!

100 meters is the max limit for bluetooth omnirange to prevent radio congestion. Wouldnt focusing it further in a certain direction make the signal 5 times as strong and thus illegal?

My old, pathetic peice of junk for a computer needs to be rid of all its extra programs put on by me sister's computer-nerd boyfriend, and the easiest way to do that is to flush out my computer. I can afford to lose everything but my iTunes- enough songs to listen for a solid week without repetition. I would transfer them to CD's , but that would require about 1,000 CDs and too much time. Buying a new computer is financially out of the question. Should I splurge on a portable hard drive? Any other ideas?

my laptop was running very slowly. the cpu usage was always at about 80-90% so i deleted a bunch of stuff one night. i obviously deleted important things too since i now have no sound and no icons. i have to access everything via "control-alt-delete" window. is there anyway i can restore the things i need???

The motherboard I am purchasing has integrated sound that supports 8 channels (Realtek ALC850). The problem is that I cannot find a computer speaker system that supports 8 channel sound cards. Here are my specs...120 hz clock, 16M RAM, fat32, 1.2 giga HD...i know there are gonna be lots of people who are gonna tell me that i just should get rid of it, believe me i recently gave a Win 2k machine to GOOD WILL, the thing is that this Win95 machine has a great sentimental value for me and i wonder if there is anything to do with it to get it to work or to do interesting things with it nowadays...thanks in advance for all the suggestions...

My husband keeps up with the virus or spyware scans weekly . I have high speed and nothing appears to be wrong with my compaq laptop but pages opening and closing, logging off and certain jobs seem to only bring on delays. I tried to burn a DVD today and after 20 minutes of waiting I just gave up. Any ideas??

For pc modders.......Can a well positioned heat sink remove heat from air, like having a fan blow air to it?
Or can a heatsink at the top of the interior of your computer remove heat also?
