I want to play some videocassettes, view and edit them, and then convert them to dvd format. Can this be done? Do I need additional software? Do I use dvd-rw or what sort of format do I need? Can the average person do this or do I have to have special technical and/or computer knowledge? Perhaps, there is a website I can go to. I have lots of videos of my late father I want to be able to share with my family. My ultimate goal is to make a dvd with some of his favorite songs as background music. I have pictures and video, is it possible to have both on the same dvd? I appreciate any help you are able to give. Thanks.

dont wanna spend over £1000 on the entire Desktop. around £800 would be good. i want this computer to run as fast as poss to run lots of meaty audio editing and sequencing software. a Bit of gaming as well.
so yeah, what processor shall i buy?

my friend's dj 3600 wont quit printing previously pending job despite being turned on and off.. what could be the problem? buffer issues?

My PC is quite old. am just upgrading it from time to time.
Now, my current hardware are:
PC Power supply- 300w
1.8ghz P4 processor
Asus board P4S533
512DDR ram
128mb Nvidia fx5200
320 gb Hard disk
combo drive cd writer
1.44 floppy drive
56kbps internal modem
2 chassis fan
15" AOC monitor
Standard keyboard and optical mouse

Is there a need to upgrade my power supply?

Whilst deleting some stuff from my machine, I managed to silence it. now it seems my sound card has vanished! In sound devices it says "no sound device". I know I used to have a "Soundmax digital audio....." and i know its still in there... Somewhere... but please! please if anyone can explain how and or where or if i can get the sound working again.

just wanted to know, which do u think is better? pros and cons of each in ur opinion.
cos i used to use pentium and found that AMD was just as good as cheaper without sacrificing preformance, my AMD xp3k+ processor is just as good as most single core prosessors still sold in ireland and it was only the budget one, whereas my dads new pentium cooks itself (not litrally of course but i do get warnings from the temprature moniter software) wen put to full power and is only 200mhz faster

is it very hard to upgrade my internal 40 gig hard drive to say a 320 gig hard drive? is it possible to do this with limited computer knowledge, or should i pay for someone else to do it? is it sometimes not possible to do this, because the computer will not allow this ? i have a Dell Dimension 2400 desktop.

I want to buy an external enclosure for one of my old hard disks but I don't know which size I need.

The top surface of My HD is roughly 3.5" accross and 5.25" lengthways, which are of course the two standard sizes!

A friend gave me her old webcam Ezonics P-8375GM. But we lost the instalation cd. My computer recognizes a new USB connection but cannot find a program to use and launch it. My computer asks me to designate one to use. The thing is I dont know which one to use that will work properly. Help.

Im using a Dell Latitude 600 laptop with S-Video Tv output. When I connect the S Video cable from the computer to the tv via a Scart adaptor. I only get a Black & White image. Have trying all the color settings PAL/NTCS etc. Any suggestions?

I need ur help! I dont know whts wrong with the monitor, when i connect monitor with CPU, it doesnt display any thing in the screen, though power is there, bale is connected. i took other monitor and conned the CPu its working and i changed the cable and used new one still its not working. I never had a problem with plugging in a usb mouse or keyboard in the past, it would automatically install, about a week ago i connected a usb mouse to my laptop and it displayed "usb device detected" and then requesting drivers, i tried all 4 ports and no joy, i tried another mouse and that too is asking for drivers, i tried mice that previously worked and no joy, i tried a usb keyboard that i previously used and no joy, i don't recall any major software changes, i did start using the standby feature recently as i stopped using hibernation, please help as this is rather annoying....
