They may be in the Deleted items or Trash folder. If not, then they are gone permanently.

I wanted to hook up with my old high school sweetheart, but. she was recalled by her maker, and permanently deleted.
Another is temporarily in the trash, married to a beer sloshing loser and living in a trailer park in Texas.
I don't see a way to restore either one... The programs I am running now are far superior, and my highly evolved mental capacities have enhanced the skills to denote the difference.

Check the Deleted Files folder first.
If they are not there, you will have to contact Yahoo for assistance. Yahoo e-mail is never downloaded to your computer. It only exist on Yahoo's servers. They would have to go back to their backup of your mail box and restore the information for you on their computer. You can not do it from your computer.
