the computer keeps clicking like something is running but I can not figure out what is running or where it is running I am a computer idiot.....

k my freind bought an ipod (the old big 20gb) off of ebay and everytime we try to plug it into a computer to change the music it says on the computer power surge in the usb port.
right now i have it because he got a new one. he takes it and charges it on a power pack (i think) so i can still listen to the music that was already on there. any ideas on how to fix this so i can put music on it?

My computer seems to stay on a half hour after the meter on the computer claims that the battery is at 0%. Is their anything I can do to fix this.

the laptop runs fine when it is stable, however when i pick it up it shuts off and tries to restart. it was working fine then one day this just started happening. any suggestions??

I notice that the windows OS has a "safely remove hardware" function that goes in combination with USB flash drives, does this actually contradict the fact that the actual specifications on USB 2.0 are HOT SWAPABLE? Or is this simply just a dummy message saying that you have something streaming from the drive.

Is the purpose for permanent storage? Based on my reading it's best to save a document first to hard drive, then to CD-ROM for permanent storage, and is formatting the CD for data preparation necessary or can I just insert the CD and save. Is this true? Also, how can I retrieve the files from Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, etc. I can't retrieve any files or save any files directly from Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. using the CD. I have a Dell Dimension E310, and I can't determine which drive is which. Whenever I insert a CD, I get the error messages, "Selected drive not in use" or "No access to E:/ see network administrator." I don't have an admnistrator. What's the problem? Please, please explain.

I cannot find instructions on how to use a usb flashdrive anywhere. There's not a small booklet, pamphlet or anything. There's not even simple instructions in the package the usb flashdrive comes in. Does anyone know of a computer book that might contain these instructions, or do you know of a web site that gives help or instructions? Thanks.

The problem is, I have very very low hard drisk space. And disk cleanup, removing programs, is not helping. I even deleted a 4 GB game installed onto my computer to save space. Help me!

How do I erase everything on my computer and start clean? Can I get back all of my hard disk space, as it was when first purchased?

I have a video file that i want to write to cd using my very regular cd-writer. However, the video takes one single MB extra than the cd's volume... Is there any recommended way to overcome this problem?
Btw i did come across the "overburn" option in nero, however it's filled with warnings about harming the cd and the cd-rw.. plus i don't need any more than 1mb extra.
So, what should i do about it?
