Frankly, I believe he is being hardheaded. If you make the lion's share of the money, I can sorta see his point. If not, let him buy the machine. For many reasons , I would prefer to have a Mac, even though I would have to learn how to use their system.

I do not like Microsnot's monopolistic way of doing business. I don't like their poor record at building secure platforms, or their way of taking their time to release patches they know are needed NOW. They are due to release Vista, which in its current form, will block all outside security systems from their registry., basically making them all useless. We are talking about Norton, McAfee, & a host of other companies who have been keeping the Windows systems, and Internet Explorer operable for all these years.

Apple, on the other hand, offers a more secure system, is the target of many fewer bad bugs, is more open to competition and what their customers want. (I am sure they have a much better spell check also, finding all the mistakes that are ignored in this answer.) And they now offer a more Windows friendly platform.

If you can afford it, go with a Mac. Computer repair is just too da*n expensive these days. Maybe make your husband suffer for awhile for being so stubborn.. I would also use Firefox As my default browser; It is also more secure, faster, and user friendly.

Macs really are better than PCs. My girlfriend switched to Mac after her PC crashed and burned. I don't blame your boyfriend. I can understand where he's coming from. A lot of PC problems are cause by terribly written software, such as Windows. I've spent a lot of time, myself, fixing PCs and helping friends and family with their PC related trouble. Since my girlfriend and I have switched to Mac, I haven't had to fix anything. I was a PC user for years before switching. You will be happy with a Mac, maybe not at first sight, but once you learn about all of the wonderful things OS X can do, you'll fall in love. You and your husband will have a very happy computing life if you're both using Mac. :-) Believe me, I know.

I love my Mac. It may be a little hard to learn for a PC user, but Macs are much more user-friendly.

I struggled for years with a PC at work, and never did manage to figure it out. Too complicated to do the same things that you can do on a Mac by pressing one key.

Everything on a PC is just a perversion of something that Mac invented, anyhow. Now, I hope that your husband will choose this as the best answer.

I use both mac and pc.. macs are less of a headache.. overall.. but pcs have programs that aren't available to macs.. until now.. the new dual boot systems are quite nice.. for example.. http://www.crawhost.com.. The graphics were made on a mac.. but the coding was done on pc.. The old cult of the macs started from the early days.. see- the movie pirates of silicon valley, it still exsists today.. but its always nice to have a windoze computer around.

Your husband is right Mac's are more stable than XP Pc's less
wires and have way less security problems.

When there's a serious security issue Microsoft makes you wait an entire month before issuing a fix last month there was some very serious security issues that Hackers were exploiting like crazy if third parties didn't step in to provide a temporary fix it would have been a disaster :(

It's possible that he is not knowledgable enough about PC problems in order to help you (especially if he specializes in Apple computers).

Whether or not Apples are better is purely a matter of opinion, but they really are *nice* systems. I personally prefer Apple computers to systems running Windows.

If you do not want to buy an Apple computer (because of the money they cost), ask your husband if he will work on your PC if you offer to install Linux. Linux is a preferred operating system by computing professionals (and it's easy to use).

It's possible he's being a jerk (some Apple afficionatos are a pain in the ***!), but see if he goes for the Linux idea.

My daughter is in a mixed relationship. She has a PC her bf has a Mac. lol.

PC's are way more complicated. He may not have the expertise. It would be like asking an airplane mechanic to work on your car. They are sort of alike but not really.

of direction, he takes you for a journey. And, according to your sentence on the tip, i'd neglect kinfolk counseling. there's a situation with blended kinfolk subjects, yet those won't be in a position to be labored on whilst one between the father and mom has no objective of contributing to the marriage different than his objectives and plans. With 5 young infants this would possibly not paintings. i'm uncertain the form you adult males ended up with this manner of excellent form of youngsters you won't be in a position to cope with to pay for, yet you would be wanting an much less stressful time of it once you at the instant are not helping the different breadwinner, to boot. He does not have the luxurious of going to college suitable now, whether that's a valid objective and not purely a stalling tactic. I additionally do not understand why you think of he'd have a huge gamble of having custody of the son you proportion, once you are the only that has shown stability.
