There are black margins on each side of my open window. How do I get rid of them? Could it be because I set my font on large? Its driving me crazy!

Do you have the resolution set higher than the monitor can display? Check display settings in Control Panel.,,:-)=

make sure the window is maximized by pressing the little box next to the red x in the top right corner. if that doesn't do it, stretch your screen using the monitor controlls

The first 2 answers are good. ..but it is also possible that the programmer disabled the "Maximize" button in code. It will be obvious because the button will be missing or dimmed.

turn your font down or when you stretch it with the arrows hold the ctrl button
