I open my task manager and my CPU usage is steady at 100%. I click on my processes window and it shows that explorer.exe is using 97-99%. I cleared most of my uneeded memory and removed most of the programs i dont need/use. Any idea what the problem is or how i can fix it.

If you need more info just say so.

I am currently using a IDE 120GB hard drive on my computer. My motherboard supports IDE and SATA. My current hard drive is starting to fail and I find myself running checkdisk and fixdisk practically every week. I'm assuming its time to start looking for a new hard drive. My question is, should I stay and buy another IDE or shoudl I go for a SATA? What are the pros and cons of each? Whats your experience with them? What do you prefer? Will I be able to transfer everything from the IDE drive to the SATA drive while both are connected to the motherboard?

I just want to know if theres any issues with the extra RAM being automatically recignized by the opperating program? luckily, the motherboard has an extra expansion slot so its just a drop-in procedure. I also have 5 pci slots and would like some ideas on what cards (sound tv video etc.) would be worth it to try out?

I have a pentium III running windows 98 -- the display only shows two color options: 2-color, and 16-color. What do I have to do to get more colors? Is this a Windows problem or a monitor driver problem?

I tried to reformat my computer by booting windows from the CD and now all my font is large. I have followed all troubleshooting tips on changing the font size but it is not working. I also am having trouble reinstalling my drivers. I put in the Utilities and Drivers CD that came with my computer but it didn't work. My warranty is up on my computer so I can't call dell. Can someone help?

I use FS2004 a lot. I have a Intel 2.80 Duo 1 Gig DDR2 RAM. and a Nvidea 6800 Xtreme graphics card. I bought this computer cause my old computer shucked badly. So, when I;m flying everything is prett smooth, except for some things like, clouds. The more clouds there are, the crappier FPS I get. I suppose thats because of the Anti-aliasing. But thats a must when playing FS!. So will upgrading and buying another stick of RAM (1GIG) help me any in the performace wise? (TOTAL to equal 2 GB)

First off I've already found a case with what I need with it. Is a 600w power supply over doing it? I don't want to build a powerful gaming rig, just something fast but can play games like HL2 at a good speed. Now I'm looking for a motherboard with an AMD processor. I did find one on ebay but I'm not sure about. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/AOPEN-MK33-MB-AMD-ATHLON-850MHZ-256MEG-RAM-NO-RES_W0QQitemZ190042638150QQihZ009QQcategoryZ99240QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
More questions to come when I get this answered.

Ok first things first , I am not going to buy an Alienware Laptop.
why? because they are way over priced, your really just buying the name...anyway
i would like the laptop to be able to run several programs at once, Macromedia Flash,Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and the internet.
another thing is im using for my online school because the desktop i have is way outdated and im not going to buy another one because i move around frequently.
i would like the screen to be 15.4 inches or larger
the maximum im able to spend is around $1500 .
another thing
any laptop company ( other then alienware ) will do
thanks
