I build computers for a living. 600w you will probably never use. Doesn't really matter. Your motherboard from eBay no I wouldn't get personally. Look on HL2 website and that mother board will not support that game. You might as well build a computer that can play games. It doesn't have to be 2000 dollars either. I play games on my latest one I built and you do not want to play games on a cheap system. So don't know whether you are planning on purchasing all of the parts or what. You can instant message me at navygirl_6@yahoo.com and I will help you if you want for free. I buy parts off of directron.com. Or I can sell you a brand new one for about the same I purchased the parts for. I can tell you how to build a $2500-3000 system that dell and others sell for less than a $1000. Email me @ rmclayborn620@yahoo.com if you do not have messenger

With the problems I have had with EBay, I would suggest you go to Pricewatch.com, Tigerdirect.com, or Outpost(Fry`s).com. Price your Motherboard/CPU combo and Memory at all the sites before deciding the best choice. Also look up more information at Tomshardware.com.

The mobo that you are looking at is a socket A. Old technology! The processors for these cost more that a really nice socket 939 processors. A 600 watt is good, as long as it is a 24 pin type. You'll grow into it one day. Here are my recommendations for you.

Take out the air funnel in the side panel of the case and replace it with a 80mm fan.
