When i try to type the pound sign on my keyboard this appears instead #. When i try to type #, this appears \ . Quite a few other characters don't correspond either. I've tried Control Panel Regions, made sure its set to English. I can make £ see, by holding down Alt, pressing 0163 on numerical pad, but its a pain. Does anyone know how to make every single character appear as its supposed to.

Toshiba Intel Celeron M 410 1.46GHz Laptop (A100-CF1) 512 MB 60G hardrive with no removable storage or Gateway AMD Sempron 3300+ 2.0GHz Laptop (MX6436RA) 512 MB, 80G hardrive with removable storage sold seperately? I'm trying to help my in-laws out with a computer that use to be my parents. When we had it there was nothing wrong with it. My brother-in-law installed Windows ME and now it's only allowing the monitor to show in 16-color mode. It was not like this before so I tried to uninstall Windows ME and it's not listed under the Add/Remove Programs. Please help! :D

My hard drive is having problems, so that when Windows starts it takes a few scratches and then it hangs. Is there a way for me to fix it from DOS? I don't have a floppy drive in that computer, only a CD drive.

First off, I'm a total amateur when it comes to computers, so any help will be really appreciated.

I bought World of Warcraft recently, and I thought that, considering the minimum specs required to play the game are that of a Pentium III, I would be able to run it on my desktop computer. But I haven't.

Recommended specifications for WoW:

Windows System 2000/XP OS:
Intel Pentium IV 1.5 GHz or AMD XP 1500+ MHz
1024 (or 512) MB RAM
64 (or 32) MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX 5700 class card or above

My specifications (or at least, what I could figure out):

Windows XP
Intel Pentium IV Processor 2.40 GHz
512MB RAM
SIS651 Integrated Graphics with Real256tm 2D/3D graphics accelerator. 32MB shared graphics memory (64MB max)

The one thing I'm entirely unsure of is whether or not my graphics card meets the requirements. There could be a hundred reasons as to why the game fails to load, and I want to rule out whatever I can.

I'm looking one that's as cheap as possible to operate, that means's mostly that there's a CISS that can be bought and operated along side the printer that's recommended.
As for the printer itself, I just need it to be able to print pictures at a medium quality, but text at very very small size (like 5pt sized text or smaller) very readable (like laser printers can)...

A. the 8 series from Nvidia

my computer has this problem... all the icons in IE and on my computer are scrambled, its like it's all messed up and you cant relly see the little icons on any program, on IE the standared tool bars are scrambled as well sometimes they go black, im not sure when exactly it did this but i would like to know how to fix it without bringing it into a shop, i have windows ME, i know its buggy but thats what i have and i cant afford to upgrade at the moment, also my programs take so long to upload. can someone please help??

The Caps Lock key is almost never used nowadays. On the other hand it is great nuisance if it is touched accidentally. Are there still uses for this irritating key (maybe when writing computer programs)?

hi. i have a sandisk 256mb flash drive and its full. i dont want to delete all the files in there cause most of them are very important, mostly are school stuffs. so is there anyway i can increased the capacity of my flash drive..either free or not free? in addition, is there anyway i can make it as a wireless adapter..u know for wifi and all that stuff? im looking for a free way to this.
