And any details you may have on what you think the best processor for the money is. I'm thinking a Pentium 4 with at least 1 mb cache and 2.8Ghz.

I have a 1ghz system which currently has a 20gb hard drive and I am planning on installing a seagate 80gb ATA hard drive on it. Just wondering if the motherboard restricts how much is installed (i remember reading something like this somewhere). I have checked and yes there is an extra connection wire and power wire available in the system to connect the hard drive. Thanx for the help.

Ok my ATI Crossfire setup says it needs 2 cards, one of them being a graphics card (in this case a Radeon X1900XTX) and the other a being a X1900 Crossfire edition. Do these cards both work together to provide better graphics or do the two cards just help one another with the load?

I know that most of you will say : format from zero. But I don´t wanna go through the tedious task of 1.42mb per diskette saving hell....

I have a PI 133mhz machine with 12x cd drive. I know, quite old.

The thing is that it doens´t want to open the CD door and if it does by the mechanical option, it won´t acces it through win95a OS. I know I have a virus. I deleted the CD drive, restored it, put the drivers on....everything goes fine after reebooting.
When I shut it down, and turn it on after exactly 15 minutes, the CD is gone, and cannot acess it anymore. And then we start mayhem again. I went down to Norton, got chat with a technician, didn´t find anything. I know this virus has messed up the reg files system and it´s somewhere located at autoexect.bat becuase I can see the boot sequence, and how it modifies it...
I just don´t know HOW TO PROCEED. I only got 24mb ram for this machine. I cannot upload more than 2 gb because the entire machine has 5gb limit. No good antivirus

Whenever my laptop starts it says that the operating system cannot be found. I just formated the hard drive and reinstalled windows the other day. It worked fine for a couple of days then started saying that it cant find the OS. I checked the BIOS settings and everything was fine. I checked the connection and it was fine. Can I hook up the HD to my PC to recover data, or what do I do to recover data? Thanks

A pop-up balloon appears when I try to synchronize and when I click it, there is a message about an unknown device in the USB Root Hub. I can get the Treo to synchronize via the infrared port on my laptop but the synchronization cable will not work.

Just set up my PC and thought that I could get Freeview on it but it only tunes terrestrial channels as I just have a coax aerial not going through digibox or anything. Do I have to invest in a digital TV card for my PC to get Freeview? If so any recommendations.
Cheers.

I have a Dell 4400 (bought in 2002). It's been a piece of junk from the day we bought it. Several problems with it and I don't want to call their tech support since I can't understand them anyway (they send you over to someone in India). 1. The monitor will work for awhile then it will slowly get fuzzy. If I shut it off and wait a minuet or two then it will work..but not long so I keep doing this. 2. I stuck a disk into the ROM drive and it doesn't do anything. It wont open any of my disks I put in it. I ran a Check It diagnostics test and is said it can find it.

Like I said it's been junk since I bought it so any ideas will be appreciated. Should I give up on it and buy a new one or try to get this one fixed?

I have a computer I wish to set up and it runs extremely slow. It's will run WinXp and has 1GB of RAM and an 80gb hard drive. I am installing WinXP and it has taken 4 hours to do 20 mins of installing. My guess is my Pentium 3 chip or the WD Caviar 80gb Hard drive is damaged. Is there a test I can run to see is that or something else?

I just formated a hard drive and reinstalled XP on a laptop of mine. It worked fine for a couple of days, but yesterday I turned on my laptop and it read Operating system not found. I tried again a few minutes later and windows loaded. Then later on in the evening it began the same problem and is continuing to do so today. I just asked yahoo and it said to check the Bios settings, I did and it said there was no hard drive on the computer. Does this mean I've lost what I have on the hard drive? Is there anything I can do?
