My key board on my laptop got messed up will a wireless keyboard work?

I should....but more important is the type of connection the 'wireless' receiver uses to connect to the system you want to use it on.

For example...Logitec uses USB connectors....but also give the user (1 or 2) USB to PS2 adapters so that all bases are covered. Your mileage may vary...so check the packaging of the product you are interested in buying.

Also be aware if your current system uses USB 1.1 (11Mb/s) or 2.0(480Mb/s).

Absolutely , it will work but make sure you install all the drivers for the wireless keyboard properly and hook its USB adapter to USB port.

how is it wrielessly connected? for example is it by bluetooth or usb? it should work for both though

it should assuming you have an open usb port.
