Hardware - June 2006

the PC, my computer doesn't automatically detect the extra hard drive. I have to "Add Hardware Wizard" every time in order to access the extra internal hard drive. What can I do to help this problem? ("System Restore" does not help for the fact that when it is done, I lose virus-scan-program info; and need to immediately reverse the "restore.)

i was wondering what the best brand would be for my laptop cause i want to upgrade my memory..it can go up to 2gb its a fujitsu n5010 pc 2700 i believe..if it only says that then why is my fsb 200 and when i check my tiimings were at 166mhz and its pc2700 so why cant i put 3200 isnt that 200mhz? cause i put in a 1gb corsair but man..horrible kept making errors and lost my vid..wouldnt even boot.. had beeps of 1-3-4-3 i have a phonix bios. i always had to reinsert it..so please tell me what brand will work with this laptop the best one..where i always wont have to reseat the memory everytime? thank you

I had to use my computers recovery system to get my computer up and running after it crashed(?)..... all applications are still on it but i have lost all my pictures and music and documents. Is there anyway to get them back? Are they hiding somewhere????? the music i can reburn into itunes but the pictures are irreplaceable!!!!

I currently have a Windows 2003 server running on AMD XP 2100 machine with 256MB Ram. I need to set it up as Terminal server so about 3-4 workstations can connect to it. Do you think this hardware is enough to support this or do i need to upgrade? Anyone can provide a link to hardware requirments for this because i can't find it anywhere..

I tried going to the Sharp website and I tried downloading the PDF manual, though for some reason all I get when I try to read the PDF manual all I see is a bunch of symbols, not plain english. Can someone either tell me how to do it in YOUR own words how to get the scan function to work or how I can get my computer to display the PDF file in plain enlish. Thank you in advance.

i'm annoyingly picky...it has to be relatively compact, have XP, USB ports and a moderately substantial hardrive (someting like 4GB is useless) i'll b using it for a lot of media and graphics, but will not be needing a web connection. cd and/or dvd burners would be fantastic but of course they are added expense. oh and i like those mouse touch pads, but thats jst me being shallow. any ideas?

My computer was completely freezing yesterday. I would have to turn it off and back on. It would work for a few minutes then do it again. I thought it was my my hard drive. I formatted my drive and re-installed windows. It froze up several times during installation. I had to restart it, then finally it finished and I was updating windows when it froze again. That was the last time my computer worked. I turned it off and turned it on, and now nothing comes on the screen. It doesn't even get to the boot screen for my to check my bios settings. I am wondering if anyone might know what could be causing this.

My HDD is behaving harshly with me. when it is
attached as a slave to other HDD it is
working,ie,drives are accessible including the primary
drive(C: drive), but as a primary it cant boot OS.

"remove disks and other media.
Please press a key to restart"
--- messege is popping up then after hitting
a key-
"DISK BOOT FAILURE....." --pops up.

I guess MBR may has been disturbed if it does,then
tell me how to cope with it.
