No any think most costly because if that will not fulfill your requirement than it will be cheapest.
I think if you want any laptop than you some steps before purchase to laptop.
1) Check it his processor speed such at this time you can take 64bit Intel P4.
2) Take 512 DDR RAM
3) 17' screen
4) Must have WIFI and blue tooth.
5) 100 GB hard drive
6) 945 MHZ motherboard.
You can also take HP , DELL, Toshiba and Apple laptops.Because these are a standard companies which provide a good hardware and supports.

i was on apple dot com and i configured one to see how high the laptop would go !$$$28,000 yah a cracklaod of money it was with an intel dualcore processor and 1 Gb memory a realllly good graphics card 200 Gb HD Wireless mouse and Keyboard and a BIG diaplay and CD/DVD burner and yah it was expenziv

i could say alienaware, mac....both have good performance, alien is for games and mac is for your regular porpurse. but it doenst crash like microsoft :D
