I just went to Walmart yesterday and i bought a combo drive from my computer. it says 52x32x52 Cd-rw & 16x dvd-rom. Does that mean i could burn dvd's or not.

This is a CD burner/DVD reader combo drive. You can burn CDR and CDRW. You can even reading DVD. But you cannot burn DVD. Otherwise it will say DVD+-R and/or DVD+-RW. It didn't say either so it is likely that you will not be able to burn DVD. You can forget about it. Even with Nero you will not be able to burn DVD. If you can burn DVD with this drive, there must be something wrong with the label or they put the drive in a wrong box and sold it to you so you are very lucky but I don't think anyone can be that lucky so you probably will not be able to burn DVD. I hope that I made it clear to you.

Nope, dont listen to the others who said yes, a DVD rom is just for watching DVD's on ur comp, but urs can burn CD's because it says CD-RW (rewritable) if the drive said DVD-RW then u could burn DVD's

sorry you cannot burn dvds, it only a combo able to burn cd's and only read dvd's. If you could burn dvd's it would have said dvd Rw not dvd rom

Yeah, this means that you can burn DVD's. The "16x dvd-rom" part of the component's title means you can burn DVD's at 16 speed. It is definitely a good DVD burner and will work fine. Just install it correctly.

now yes u can burn cds
u can go to any computer store and by a dvd-rw

The definition will be DVD+-R/RW if it can burn DVDs. This drive is combo CD Writer, which means it can play DVD and write CDs. **IT cannot create/write DVD** I can guarantee that.

No you can't burn DVD, as its mentioned CD-RW (that means the CD is only writable) & 16x DVD can only be played.

Oyee i am sorry, that is a DVD combo will play DVDs will burn and play 700 MB Cd's but not DVDs.
