We just switched our internet connection on CenturyTel, and now the router won't work with the router we have. It's a Linksys wireless router, and the modem is a Westell. What do I need to do to make it work?

We have installed security cameras at one location in our business, and have decided it is best to monitor the feeds from a different location. Both sites have high speed internet via cable bodem, and the camera uses a standard RCA video jack. Is there a simple hardware and software solution to transmit the feed to be viewed on a PC screen at our other location? I have looked at Slingbox, but think that may be overkill for our situation. Any help would be appreciated.

We have high speed internet with Comcast, but when the man installed it, he told me that I could get a wireless connection through our internet. So I was just wondering if anyone knew how I could get this connection. My laptop came with a wireless card built in it already, so it's just a matter of creating a connection.

The novice is behind a NAT and firewall, he has a static local IP.
We are planning to use the "Using Remote Assistance via saving a file" method found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457004.aspx#EFAA

Does the novice need to forward port 3389 TCP only to his static local IP? Does the "msrcincident" file contain the novice's external IP information or do I need to edit it at all? Also is the connection RC4 encrypted like Remote Desktop?

there are two LANS in my computer. The other LAN is used by my sister. Of course, she will have not have any access to the internet without my PC on. To save electricity, I decided to buy a switch so that the dependence of the other computer will be minimized.

But why do I seem to lose my connection with the switch? The computer taskbar tells me that I have a limited or no conectivity. I tried restarting the computer after the operation but nothing changed.

I tried to renew my IP Address with the command prompt but it didn't give any results after 5 minutes. Do I need to wait for more? How does a switch or a router give IP Address?

Thanks a lot for your answers....

So I am trying to get my Nintendo DS connected to wi-fi and the only things I do not know are my Primary DNS and my Secondary DNS. I know how to find out what they are using my PC but I currently do not have access to it. But it is working.

I would just like to know if there is any way that I can get my Primary and Secondary DNS without using my PC or calling anyone.

Also, I have a Nintendo Wii that I can go on the internet with (I am using it right now) so if there is anything online that can help me please tell me.

I can not find the information on my Nintendo Wii because most of the information on it was automatically obtained.

Ok, I have two computers. Originally only one computer was wired to the wireless router and the other one was wireless. But the computer using the wireless was going really slow and disconnecting alot, so I connected it to the wireless router as well. So, can the internet provider tell that I have two computers hooked up to the same router/connection? The reason I am asking is that Our internet provider charged one of my friends for having two computers hooked up since the rate only covers one computer. I dont rememer exactly how she had it hooked up, but I know it wasnt through a wireless router. I just want to know do I need to go back to the wireless and do some troubleshooting or can I leave it the way it is and not worry about getting double charged?

I want to network my computers at home to the computer in my office on the other side of town, so I can share and access the files between them. They are on different broadband ISPs and both use a wireless router.

I've looked up the networking section on Vista but it's too complicated. I think I need to be setting up a VPN network but I don't really know what this means, and it asks for IP addresses and other stuff I don't understand.

If it's possible for me to do this, and you can explain how in clear and non technical language, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers!
