Is this a joke?
Wireless means Wireless. You should be able to disconnect your cable and connect to your router wirelessly. You need to put in the default IP address that came with your router into your internet browser address bar.

desktop connects to modem, modem to router. DO NOT need cable to connect laptop to router, but make sure laptop switch for internet access is ON. I am typing this from my laptop and the computer specialist did not know to turn the switch ON. I had to find this in the directions.

if you completed the setup procedure then you should be able to now unplug the cable, your laptop should then recognise your wireless router.
You initialy have to conect using a cable to setup up yur router only
