there were 20pcs that are connected to hub working with small speed I tried to enhance the speed and replace the hub with the switch(D-link with 24 port each),the server is win 2000 server I have change nothing with z server.

Unfortunately with those switches some pcs can find the server some cann't
if u are aquainted with networking well pls lets talk with emails "netprotix@gmail.com" .I need ur advice soon

Read the D-Link User Manual, cover to cover FIRST, and follow all the installation instructions. You may have to setup up each PC correctly ONCE. Then, everything should work properly.

If not, call D-Link for tech support, that's what they do.

There is no reason why some PC's would connect and others won't for an out of the box switch install. Theres no configuration necessary for a standard switch.

Now if there were VLANS configured then I'd say sure, the PC's on the foriegn VLAN would not be able to see the PC's on the primary VLAN. But I doubt you've set up VLANS.

I am guessing that maybe a cabling issue with the PC's, or an autonegotion issue with the speed or duplex type caused by the NIC's on the PC's experiencing the errors.
