Basically I have one ethernet cable in-wall and have two units (PS3 and Wii). How do I connect both, without having to reconnect the cable to either one and without running a second cable from the router? Is there an adapter, splitter, etc...? If you may please also link me to what is needed. Thanks so much!

I have attempted to set up a printer for my small home network, and I've run into some trouble. It's a wired network, and both computers are connected to the internet through the router, and are successfully 'networked'.

First I installed the printer onto the BASEMENT computer using the software from the manufacturer. I made sure it worked without errors, and then allowed it to be shared.

I then searched for the printer on the network with MYROOM computer in the Printer and Fax section of the Control Panel. I found the printer, named 'hpoffice' on the network, and went through the steps choosing the appropriate options.

However, MYROOM computer has an error icon in my system tray that says 'hp officejet printer: Error'. When I double click on it to see the Status box, it says 'Printer Disconnected!', even though the printer is on (and working for the BASEMENT pc), and I have rebooted each computer several times incase it was necessary.
I'm out of ideas, thank you for any help given.

my laptop how do i fix this?

Well, the problem is my stepdad is a pain in the ***... I have had Xbox Live since 2004...This bastard doesnt know it...But he doesnt want me to have it because he says he will spend too much money if I do...Which is false because he never paid squat for it...or else I would know, but unless he comes in my room he cant see the internet connection to my Xbox 360... The problem is he has a new laptop, which apparently can detect my xbox 360 connected to the internet...He told me that when his internet was wired ...now he bought a wireless router (or modem, I cant tell the difference, its a linksys with two antennas...)

So from his wireless laptop can he detect my wired internet to my xbox 360?

If so, how can I change that?

i have the knowledge and all, its not my field of business, my boss wants to deploy a wireless network, i think we can do it with a multi point wireless access points, to run coax and place the antenas so that every corner of the business is covered, how much would some one charge for something like that, reason is i could get that money myself, instead of subletting it to some one else. thanks

Here's the deal, we have two computers set up beside each other and we want to be able to access our internet account from either one. I don't necessarily need to share files from one to the other, only have it set up to that I can be on the www researching something and hubby can also do what he needs to do on the net from his separate computer. We do have a router, which we've never hooked up, for lack of knowledge on how to do so? Please any help would be grand. We aren't trying to rip off our service provider, just wanna maybe play a game of pogo with each other once in awhile :) Thanks in advance for any advice.
