Hi,

I have humingbird exceed installed on my pc. My coworker is at work in front of a solaris box. I'm at home. We want to view the same screen so that he can see what I'm doing and he can then make suggestions. Is it possible to view the same screen at the same time remotely using humingbird exceed. I know you can do this using tight vnc but we don't have that installed on the unix box.

How do I get my new Vista laptop to show up on my network so the vista machine shows up my XP machines (My Networks). I have tried everything. No firewalls. All the XP machines on the network show up in Vista. Vista can exchange files with them, and I can explore the XP machines. Vista is invisible to them. There is no security or firewall softare enable on Vista, and sharing is enable and yes they are all on the same workgroup. Bonus points if there is something I can do to drain the time out of microsoft engineers and execs who invented this cr*p.

Thanks!

So I just turned 17 and I set up my first network in my house between my brothers and my own laptop computer, he is connected to the internet and he has a wireless router in his room that i get my internet signal from, and he doesn't have a wireless internet card for his computer either and its a desktop. I set the network up through the wireless router...is this a suprising thing for a 17 year old to do or is it just a normal occurance? I was just wondering since I have thought of going into this kinda job field.
Thanks for any answers

My sister just got a Compaq Presario laptop and she has ATT Yahoo DSL that connects through her phone line, she does not have to dial for connection. She has a regular desktop PC already and it is connected by this DSL but what is her best bet to connect wirelessly on her laptop? The easiest and for a good price. Thanks.

Last weekend, the internet on my other desktop stopped working. I did the usual things I do if something like this happens (reset the router, use the MSN Troubleshooting program, check IP's and whatnot).
I'm am on a desktop connected to the same router in the same room right now, and the internet is fine (obviously). The internet on my laptop (which is connected to a wireless router, connected to the same router again) is fine.
After using the troubleshooter, it says there is a problem with the "Default Gateway". I did a little searching online and it said that that means the IP address is messed up. I did a little more fiddling with the IP, but to no avail.
I am all out of ideas and have no idea what to do. Some help would be much appreciated.

I just purchased a brand new laptop. (vista, laptop has wifi capability)

I want to use as LITTLE wires as humanly possible.

In my home, there is my aunts computer (desktop) and my laptop in my room.

Is there such a thing we can purchase, that will give us BOTH wireless access to the internet? And we want to get rid of my current cable MODEM and ROUTER and purchase one that has both???

Also, we CAN use the same setup to print from one printer wirelessly? (hp photosmart2710 has wifi capability)

I thank you very much in advance for your help!!

I just set up my laptop and desktop connected wireless through an ad hoc network. But after turning on file sharing for both computers, only my laptop able to see my desktop sharing folders but not the other way around. Even turn on different file sharing on my laptop my desktop can't see none of them in My Network Places. Both computers are on same workgroup.

What do I need to do to make my Desktop recognize the file sharing on my Laptop and access them?

Does anyone know how to (simply) share files across an XP/Vista LAN network when the XP machine is home to the broadband router? Gone through the process umpteen times and tried all sorts of things with no luck.
